Ruthin in the Daily Telegraph Top 50
Glastir, Ruthin... by any other name
There has been an outcry by local people against the new name used by Bryant Homes for the new estate. The name 'Parc Rhuthun' / Ruthin and even Glastir Vale is being used as temporary names. We suggest 'Ffordd Rhys Ifans' or 'Swampy's Paradise' as the place is already flooded.
We also would like to suggest Maes Cynddylan due to the connection of Cynddylan with Ruthin. He was a 7th century ruler of Dogfaeling, (which is still connected with Ruthin today in the street name 'Dog Lane'). See Wikipedia for the full connection with Rhuthun.
Too Expensive!
The new homes have also been condemned as being too expensive for local needs. The cheapest starter home is on sale for around £200,000. Looking for properties in Ruthin?
But there are a few houses, flats and apartments in Ruthin itself being sold for around £80,000. We have found this excellent site for you: Flats, houses, shops and offices are available here.
